“Motherhood is a choice you make everyday, to put someone else’s happiness and well-being ahead of your own, to teach the hard lessons, to do the right thing even when you’re not sure what the right thing is…and to forgive yourself, over and over again, for doing everything wrong.” ~Donna Ball

Throughout my career, I've worked as a book production editor, travel magazine editor, features writer, and weekly newspaper columnist.
My award-winning lifestyles features and essays have appeared in many national magazines and anthologies, including Newsweek, Reader's Digest, The Christian Science Monitor, Writer's Digest, Victoria, Better Homes & Gardens, Bella Grace, and more. My weekly Sunday "Life Lines" column ran for 14 years in The Daily Tribune (Royal Oak, MI) and won a First Place (Local Columns) award from the Michigan Press Association.
My essay collection, Writing Home, includes 93 previously published columns and essays focusing on parenthood and family life.
I just wanted to let you know that I have been reading your daily Life Lines and really appreciate them. I really thought them to be inspirational and thought provoking. This one is especially timely and says so much in such a concise amount of words. Keep up the great work. I am sure everyone on your email list appreciates them.
Have a Great Mother’s Day,
Cindy La Ferle
Thanks ever so much, Bob. So nice of you to write, and I am happy you like the posts. I truly enjoy putting them out there. I was teaching a writing class not long ago, and I was reminded of you and the wonderful writing you shared with my classes in the past.
