What the sidewalk says

Draw a crazy picture,
Write a nutty poem,
Sing a mumble-gumble song,
Whistle through your comb.
Do a loony-goony dance
‘Cross the kitchen floor,
Put something silly in the world
That ain’t been there before.” — Shel Silverstein

Walking to the local Trader Joe’s for groceries, Doug and I discovered the sidewalk commentary, above, printed in newly poured concrete. It made me laugh so hard that I had to come back to take a photo after the morning shadows shifted away from the sidewalk. This has inspired me to look for a “fresh discovery” that makes me smile — no matter how small — every day when I go for walks. No matter how old we are, we all need reminders to stop taking everything too seriously, right? — CL
