When you have to detour

“Just because things hadn’t gone as I’d planned didn’t necessarily mean they’d gone wrong.” ~Ann Patchett

We’re all familiar with the old saw, “Everything happens for a reason.” Sometimes the route you’ve been following isn’t the route for you. And as frustrating as it is when things go off course, the outcome you didn’t plan for might serve you better than you’d expected.

Maybe you didn’t get the job you wanted, or the promotion you’d hoped for — and were motivated to look for something better? Maybe a romance didn’t work out, but the break-up led you to the spouse you cherish today? Sometimes a change in plans is exactly what you need. ~CL
