Sharing our family stories

A book signing event and readings from Writing Home”

campfire Long before recorded history, families gathered around the fire to share tales of their ancestors, achievements, life lessons, and dreams. Please join me for coffee and an informal reading of a few favorite stories from my essay collection, Writing Home. Following the reading, we’ll have a discussion on how you can begin to record and share your own family stories and memories.

Where: Java Hutt Coffee House, 207 S. Old Woodward, Birmingham, MI 48009

Cindy, I wish I could be there, too. What a great way to start the fall season and settle in for the months ahead.

How did it go Cindy? It sounds wonderful! I’m trying to gather up some family stories myself.

Thanks for asking … the reading went very well, and I really enjoyed the coffeehouse venue. The people at Java Hutt are wonderful, and are connected to some of my old reference book publishing friends at Gale Research. Some of those friends surprised me by showing up at the reading, which really made the evening for me! –CL
