“Planning to write is not writing….Writing is writing.” — E. L. Doctorow
Ready to start writing this spring? Limited space is available in my April workshop, First Person Singular. Whether your goal is to write for pleasure or publication, this three-week personal essay class will help you conquer your fear of self-expression and flex your creative storytelling skills. (Registration deadline: March 25.) If you live in Oakland County, please visit my newly updated “Workshops” section for dates and details on this and upcoming writing workshops. — CL

I like the Doctorow quote. It reminds me of another saying that I enjoy: Don’t tell people what you plan to do. Tell them what you’ve done.

So, have you ever thought of converting your local workshops to a teleseminar format that people outside of the Detroit area could join? Just wondering …

Elaine, I hadn’t thought of that — but thanks for the suggestion!

I have said in the past that if I lived near you, I would be signing up. When I read this post, I wondered the same thing about you offering something online. The quote is great, and true about so many things in life.

Sounds very intriguing. . . I’d be interested in an online version too. Or perhaps the summer retreat. Hmm.
