Snuggies

Who knew? Who knew that in the midst of a grim recession, someone would dream up a bizarre blanket with arms and other people would actually buy it? Yeah, I’m talking about the Snuggie. Everyone in my family has a wonderfully warped sense of humor. For weeks my son and I have had fun mocking the Snuggie infomercial, so I shouldn’t have been surprised when he mailed his dad and me a mystery package containing two sage green Snuggies.
On my Facebook profile, several friends goaded me into posting a photo of myself in my new Snuggie. But since I have no pride whatsoever, I’ve decided to share it here with everyone. My only regret? I don’t have the red Snuggie, which would surely make me look like a member of the Emperor’s Royal Guard in Stars Wars. Maybe I’ll order one, and while I’m at it, I’ll get myself a Shuffles Shoe Mop. — CL

Wow, you look pretty happy snuggled there! I’ll bet it’s really warm, too. Makes sense, a nice way to keep the thermostat turned down and trim $$ from the utility bills.

Ha! This is one of those things we love to laugh at, but secretly think is a great idea. I’m a little jealous actually since I hate ‘artificial’ air and keep the house very cool. I’m always walking around wrapped up in an afghan or a shawl, so to me, this looks like a fabulous idea! You look very warm and cozy!

Yes, it is cozy, but you can’t walk in it. I can’t imagine how these people actually do “pub crawls” in these things. I nearly fell into the TV set on my way to the bathroom!

This is my first look at a snuggie. You wear it well. I get up and down too much to wear one – I’d spend half my time on the floor!

It does look a tad cumbersome to move around in. And you remind me of Aimee Semple McPherson, wearing yours with your arms raised like that. Glory Hallelujah!

Red- perfect! I was thinking about Princess Leia myself! I have to say they seem impractical but you do look cozy!

I can tell I live a sheltered and deprived life! But I’m thinking after being distracted by a whole bunch of Snuggie cult videos over on YouTube, it may be just as well!
But you say they have it in red?…
